Worth of Rosas para Lecuona

In 2018, because of the 55th anniversary of Ernesto Lecuona´s death, Rosas para Lecuona was recorded, with songs and several pieces for piano by the Spanish soprano Ana María Ruimonte and someone who is an expert in the music by the author of La Comparsa: Huberal Herrera.

Both artists were responsible of bringing back to life the legacy of the Cuban composer, in moments in which the aesthetic diversity is so needed in order to face the banality around us.

The record is, besides a tribute, the meeting of a Maestro: Huberal Herrera and his disciple, Ana María Ruimonte, given the great communication between the artists. The Spanish singer learned a lot from the artist devoted to studying Lecuona´s music for many years, if we are able to recall he knew the composer of Malagueña when he was a young man.

And precisely this moment from the Suite Andalucía is the one that balances the compact, in which moments like Dame de tus rosas and Sin ti, reassure the artists´ sensitivity towards the music of the one who might be considered the most universal Cuban composer.

Rosas para Lecuona was recorded in the studio of PM RECORDS, thanks to the unconditional support of Pablo Milanés; and it contains some valuable record notes by Luis Manuel Molina, as an extra value.

Likewise, it is the first volume of an ambitious record project that reinforces the worth of its performers; and, mainly, the impressive cultural legacy of Maestro Ernesto Lecuona.
